Yaron Deckel
Mr. Deckel is considered by many to be one of Israel´s top political
reporters and commentators. A seasoned Radio and
Television journalist, Mr. Deckel has covered the trials and tribulations of
Israeli politics since 1985, including seven general election campaigns.
He is known for having had unprecedented access to all the major
players in this ever-changing arena, from aides and parliamentary
assistants to virtually all-top politicians (including all the prime-ministers)
in the past 2 decades.
Since July 2007 Mr. Deckel is a host of a popular daily radio talk show in Israel. In the years of 2002 - 2007, Mr. Deckel has been reporting from
Washington. During this time he covered, among other things, the 2004 presidential campaign, the Shuttle Columbia disaster, Hurricane Katrina and US political events related to the Iraq war. Of note, in August 2005 Mr. Deckel was invited to interview President Bush in his Texas ranch -- an exclusive interview that was the first ever granted to an Israeli journalist. In November 2006 he interviewed President Carter following his book about Israel and Palestine
