Emmanuel Halperin, is an Israeli journalist.
Born in the USSR, he was educated in France and moved to Israel in 1962. He studied Law (LlB), Literature (MA) and Theatre in Jerusalem and in Paris.
Head of the Foreign Desk at Kol Israel, the Israeli public radio, Paris correspondent, Head of the News department, he then turned to Television and served as political correspondent for Channel 1 and as anchorman for many years. He is presenting now a weekly TV interviews program.
Halperin was Cultural Attache in Paris from 1985 to 1987. He was awarded the 2005 Sokolov Prize (the Israeli Pulitzer) and was conferred the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre du Merite of the French Republic. He teaches Journalism and French literature in Tel Aviv University.
Emmanuel Halperin lectures frequently in French speaking countries on Israeli policy and culture. He was “scholar in residence” in several communities in the United States and Canada, among them Pittsburgh, El Paso, Oklahoma City and Montreal.
